Kalawewa National Park Evening Safari

The evening safari starts in the late afternoon, a prime time to observe wildlife as temperatures cool and animals emerge from shaded areas. Elephants, the park’s main attraction, can frequently be seen in large gatherings near the Kalawewa reservoir, making it one of the best places in Sri Lanka to view these magnificent creatures up close. Water buffalo, wild boar, and various bird species, such as the black-headed ibis and peafowl, are also commonly sighted. The evening light casts a warm glow over the landscape, creating a picturesque setting as the safari concludes around sunset.
